The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
